- okay. before you read this review, remember: i am a hardcore fan of divergent and i LOVE LOVE LOVE dystopian books, so my review may be a little biased. this movie was...amazing though, i have to say. i have read the trilogy and i can truthfully say that it is one of the best book series i have ever read. the movie did not disappoint me. there was a little too much music playing on some parts, but it was fairly true to the book. they did miss out some parts/characters i wish they had included, such as edward & the butter knife scene, uriah, zeke, marlene, lynn, the dauntless cake scene (for tobias, of course), and the second tattoo tris got. they threw in some parts that made me yell in the theatre and jump around in my seat, but it was soooo good. i was unsure of the actors in the beginning, but after watching the movie, my opinion was changed. definitely a must-watch movie if you like exciting thrillers and (sort of) mysteries. also, PLEASE read the book series, it is 100% PERFECTION! watch out for insurgent march 20, 2015 and allegiant march 18, 2016 if you're a fan!
- I was disappointed with the movie, but enjoyed it nonetheless. I'm a hardcore fan as well. They didn't include Visiting Day, made the actors of Peter, Al, and Will look the same. They didn't do the Tris-thrown-into-chasm scene right, (I had my own image in my head), they didn't have Drew, or Uriah, or Marlene, or Lynn. Did they have Shauna or Lauren? They made it seem like Al was a nobody and his death wasn't important at all. They didn't even have the scene where Christina tells Tris that she kissed Will. That makes it seem like the relationship between Christina and Will meant nothing and they were just really good friends. Marcus was supposed to do the Choosing Ceremony, not Jeanine. WHY WOULD THEY EVEN ALLOW AN ERUDITE LEADER WHO HATES MARCUS STOMP INTO THE ABNEGATION BUILDING AND DO THE CEREMONY?? Sorry, I see no logic in that. They would not let Jeanine in, especially since she makes accusations that Marcus abused Tobias. (Which he did.) But still, the tension between Erudite and Abnegation is already flaring up. As movie is was very good, but for a fan who's read the book and seen the movie, it's a slight disappointment.

- brelovesbooksover 10 yearsMovie review: I loved this book. I read it before the movie, before I even knew the movie was coming out, so maybe 5 months before it came out. It was pretty accurate and so was the cast. The plot is fantastic and if you haven't read or seen this movie/book you should.
