Disney... Disney disney disney oh my child, how far you have come! I LOVED MOANA! This animation had memorable characters, a great plot line, and an amazing sound track! Disney, you will see me buying your moving when it releases, and listening to the soundtrack until i am content.
Honestly one of the best masterpieces by Disney and I truly mean it. Finally a female heroine with no love interest who finds her true identity. The movie represents a lot about the Polynesian culture which goes in depth with a lot of history and traditions within mythology. Being the daughter of the Motunui Island Chief put a lot of pressure on Moana to be a leader and stay on the island. However, her heart is telling her to sail beyond the reef and follow the ocean. Her grandmother shows Moana of the people' past as voyagers and Moana decides to save the world on a journey to bring balance to the islands. She finds Maui the demigod who stole the heart of Te Fiti and urges him to bring it back to where it belongs. It is hinted that Maui is quite arrogant and thinks highly of himself, but we soon find out that he is only so to earn the love of humans who rejected him. In the end, Moana restores the heart with the help of Maui and the spirit of Gramma Tala. The movie portrays how you should believe in yourself no matter how hard situations can become :)
