The Color Purple (1985)
An epic tale spanning forty years in the life of Celie, an African-American woman living in the South who survives incredible abuse and bigotry. After Celie's abusive father marries her off to the equally debasing 'Mister' Albert Johnson, things go from bad to worse, leaving Celie to find companionship anywhere she can. She perseveres, holding on to her dream of one day being reunited with her sister in Africa.

- This movie is really good.It teaches me about what happen back then and about slavery. I am half white and half black which is mixed. People used to get abused and killed back then. They had to work hard labor no matter how tired they are. They worked for at least 24 hrs or more depending on what they are doing,I feel bad for them that got hurt and abused for no reason but that is how life was.
- This is a really good movie.Teaches me alot about how people use to live back in the days. When slavery and people where getting abused.
