The plants in that part of Alaska are pretty resilient and fit for the weather that happens there! For example, the trees will use their "stored energy" that they collected, so in the end it all works out! :) (btw the stored energy thing is kind of like when bears hibernate lol!)

honestly, the quick advancement of technology has, for a long time, succeeded in making me feel uneasy. I mean just think about it! Im about to get a bit off topic here, but I think its worth mentioning. Do you see how much we are starting to rely on technology? For example, I know prosthetic limbs and body parts are a really helpful piece of modern tech, but what if humans start taking advantage of their abilities for these kinds of things? The world is advancing faster than other, and at what cost? In a hundred years or so, we'll be part cyborgs. Maybe in less..
