But one day, Mimi suffers a stroke and is in the hospital for a few days. One early morning, Claudia wakes up to worried voices. She soon finds out that Mimi died, and she is sad, but angry at Mimi for leaving her. She feels better only when she spills the beans to her sister, Janine. This is one of the more sad books in the series, but it is a good one.
