Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be the oldest kids in a town full of kids younger than you? In the book Children of Exile by Margaret Peterson Haddix, Rosi and Edwy are the only two 12 year old kids. All of the other kids in their town are younger than them. They used to be good friends when they were younger, but as they grew up they became more distant to each other. In this book, they have to learn to watch out for eachother and all of the little kids. Children of Exile is a story about what could happen to our world in the future. This story in the beginning takes place in a place called, ‘Fred Town’. Later in the book it takes place in the kids’ home town. One day all of the kids in Fred Town learn that they are all going home. Rosi Alvaran is worried about why all of the kids in Fred Town are all being sent home. No kid had ever been sent back home before. Rosi soon discovers that home is not at all the place that she imagined it would be. Rosi also discovers that her home town is a dangerous place. The antagonists are these people called enforcers who prevent anyone from her home town to ever leave. She also has to make sure the little ones with her stay safe too. I recommend this book to anyone who likes adventures and mysteries because there are a lot of secrets being kept hidden from all of the kids, and they need to figure out what those secrets are. Also because the kids have to go on so many adventures to find out about their hometown and what happened to it in the past. There is one other book in this series called, “Children of Refuge.” Children of Refuge is based on what happens to Edwy, when he gets home.

A war filled with planets and spacecrafts that are beyond our reach for the stars. Having deaths and wars between the same race is like killing thousands among thousands of people everyday. Many suffer, many die, but space will not get any more crowded in this atmosphere. Based on Future presents this book it doesn't exactly have a time period. The book Dove Alight by Karen Bao, Phaet the protagonist, has to go through a war filled with death and many teams against each other. The committee the antagonists of the story, make it hard to be happy and move on from past mistakes and also stops Dovetail trying to make peace and rise up to the committee by collaborating with others. Phaet is a war girl and she tries to make the best decisions possible for her siblings and friends, and one of the conflicts she had was to speak up among thousands of people who could reject her idea. Phaet is also struggling with her siblings joining in this war like region. The content in this book would be appropriate for 6 up, the reasoning I say 6 up is because of the somewhat heavy topics and it’s really hard to pronounce or read some of the words in this book.

Do you like riddles? In Kat Zhang’s ‘The Emperors Riddle’ Mia, the protagonist (main character) loves riddles and adventure. Mia’s mother even calls her “A grand adventure”. When Mia visits Modern China, her mother's home-country, on a summer trip, her Aunt Lin pulls out a an old picture that belonged to Mia’s grandmother, on the back is an incomplete map to an ancient treasure that hasn’t been found ever. When Aunt Lin tells her old friend Ying she might have found the map to the treasure, Ying kidnaps Lin. Aunt lin, and Ying had be sent to the Fuzhou countryside when they were teenagers to be laborers and they searched for the treasure there. Aunt Lin wanted to put the treasure in a museum but Ying wanted to sell it to make money. They never find the treasure and eventually go back to China. Years later, Ying's wife is extremely sick. After she finds out Lin has been kidnapped, Mia, and her brother go to find, and rescue Lin. They find the old map, and try to solve they riddles that have been left behind to finish the map. When they do find Lin, they have Ying to deal with. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure books. I really liked this book because it had a sibling team working together to find their aunt, and the adventure they go on is incredible. They go all around China and a lot of chinese temples and monuments are incorporated into the story. This book is basically one giant adventure.

This is a really good book that follows the first book well. The only thing I wish is that there would be another book in this series. This is a great book.
