Laurence Anholt has a wonderful way of making you feel that you have gone back in time with the artist Leonarto da Vinci. He uses the facts about the life of Leonardo and in telling his story keeps the reader interested. When I traveled to Florence, Italy this summer I imagined everything that Mr. Anholt described in his book as I walked down the same narrow streets and markets as Leonardo did hundreds of years ago.

Charlotte's Web is a classic novel about a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte. Wilbur is in danger of being slaughtered and Charlotte comes up with a plan to save him.

This book is wonderful to use the Reading Power Infer. It has the most amazing illustrations so that you can infer what is going to happen next because the author doesn't always tell you.

Kate Dicamillo does a wonderful job with words telling the tale about this little mouse Despereaux and his love for the princess.
