Do you know what it's like to have your entire world ripped apart? If so, then you'll probably relate to Insurgent by Veronica Roth. Tris, the protagonist, Tobias, whose name was Four in Divergent, and the factionless all fight against the Erudite-Dauntless army. Jeanine and the Erudite-Dauntless army, the antagonists, fight to kill all Divergents, and take down any Abnegation member. This is one conflict. Another conflict is finding a stable place to live when most of the Abnegation are dead, and there's the Erudite and Dauntless who will kill you if they find you. This book is set in the future, and in Chicago. The turning point in this book is when Tris’s friends start to go under simulations caused by Erudite, they warn her that she must surrender herself to Erudite. Tris follows this direction to protect the Amity, Candor, Abnegation, and the factionless from Erudite’s simulations. Jeanine puts her through lots of tests to find out what's so different about the Divergent. I like this book because it has a lot of action and drama. Insurgent is a very good sequel to Divergent, and I would definitely recommend this book if you've already read Divergent.

The Worst Class Field Trip Ever Dave Berry Have you ever been on a class field trip? Well in this book Wyatt and Matt (protagonists) leave with their class to Washington DC from Miami Florida. All Wyatt wants to do is not let Matt embarrass him in front of his crush Suzan (another protagonist), On the plane there they see these weird guys and Matt messed up, big time. Matt thought the in weird guys backpack there was a bomb but it was a giant paper mache dragon head. The next day they see them at the White House sneaking around, they see Matt and Wyatt and start chasing them, But they made it to their bus in time. On my the bus on the way back to the hotel Matt tells Wyatt that he stole something that he thought was a bomb detonator (conflict). That night the weird guys come to there hotel room and kidnap Matt! (conflict) Luckily Suzan had kept it in her purse, after Cameron (a kid in Wyatt's hotel room, also a protagonist) has his dad that tell him it's a jammer (jams missiles to go to unwanted targets) they think the guys plan to bomb the White House. They try and form a plan to save the president and the White House.(turning point) They are also trying to save Matt but will they ever see him again? I really recommend this book to EVERYONE. The protagonists are the ones mentioned before and someone you don't expect. The antagonist is another person you won't expect, if I tell you who they are it will ruin the whole book for you. Another conflict is where they have is at the end where there is an epic showdown at the White House again don't want give anything away. Like I said before I would recommend this book to everyone and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Do you like books with lots of history and action? The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan is a perfect book for you. On one of their infrequent visits, siblings and protagonists Carter and Sadie are joined by their Egyptologist father Julius Kane to take a trip to the British Museum in a modern London. During the trip, Julius mistakenly blew up the Rosetta Stone, releasing 5 imprisoned Egyptian gods: Osiris, Isis, Horus, Nephthys, and Set. Set, Egyptian God of Chaos and War and main antagonist in the book, imprisons Julius in a tomb and makes a cryptic remark to Sadie and Carter before exiting. When the police came to investigate and question witnesses, they decided that Carter and Sadie were responsible and were deported to the United States with their uncle Amos. There, they find out that they come from a dynasty of Egyptian magicians and they need to use their magic to help unlock Julius from Set’s tomb. I recommend The Red Pyramid to anyone who's willing to spend the time, as well as anyone who is interested in Egyptian mythology and lore. The book is around 550 pages, so if you're really interested (which I think you will be) it should only take a week to read cover to cover. I enjoyed it because I really like all of the above.
